Family Itineraries and Getting Around

Sea kayaking in Corsica
We want our family holidays to be exciting and adventurous for all ages, but do understand the differing needs of adults and children (many of us are parents!) and so have taken into consideration differing attention spans and physical/mental stamina.

We tend to:

  • include the better-known sights within the itinerary
  • leave a number of visits and activities optional
  • build free time into all our itineraries

Family group adventure tours do have to stick to some sort of schedule to ensure that they work logistically. However, our tour leaders are asked to be as flexible as possible within the confines of the itinerary. This may mean they:

  • arrange a number of group meals for those that would like to eat with their travel companions
  • or, offer some optional excursions that are not mentioned on the tour dossier (a one-off festival visit for example or a visit to a local house to try on saris).

To keep the tour running effectively, tour leaders tend to give regular briefings about what is happening in the next few days, timings and what you need to bring for excursions, sightseeing and activities. They will also brief the group on safety and general health issues.

Four legs are often more fun than two and your journey may include anything from camels to elephants! We incorporate a variety of transportation within the itinerary, often adding a local flavour so you can travel like the locals. Trips are planned to minimise, where possible, long travelling times.
