My best holiday experience was have been travelling in Australia and Thailand. Perth, in Western Australia, soon became a home away from home for me; I completely fell in love with it. In both Thailand and Australia I had a lot of free time – the freedom and lack of a planned itinerary really excited me.

One of my most memorable travel experiences was climbing up the statue of liberty in New York, before the events of 2001 led to this being closed to the public. Granted there was only room for two people at a time to stand in the crown, however I am glad to have experienced this.

Next for me is South America, I would love to explore it by bike. Brazil and Colombia are two countries that I would love to experience – they’re just so different to anywhere I’ve been before. 

My best piece of travel advice? If you’re travelling to a hot country, take a thermos for carrying water in - it keeps it nice and cool, perfect for a hot day!
