I’ve travelled all over Asia but if asked to pick one country I loved the most I’d say Nepal. For me Nepal has everything: Kathmandu is a relaxed friendly capital, Pokhara is chilled out, lowland Chitwan is a complete contrast to the mountain trails and scenery which are the perfect escape from the rat race. Best of all though, the Nepalese people are among the most friendly and welcoming I’ve met anywhere.
Wherever I travel the food always seems to be a highlight, especially in Asia. Probably my favourite meal is okonomiyaki - Japanese omelettes filled with noodles, seafood or meat, cooked in front of you. They taste amazing but the best part is watching the chefs as they work at lightning speed.
I think my funniest moment while travelling was in Bangladesh, where I managed to disrupt a school trip to the ancient ruins at Paharpur. The kids spotted me immediately and all crowded round to ask why I was there and to take my photo. After a few minutes even the teacher stopped trying to get the kids to continue with their tour and began taking pictures of me too!
