It’s a difficult choice but I think my best holiday ever was when I explored the Galapagos Islands on a wooden sailing boat. The wildlife and landscapes of the islands are simply out of this world, and the experience of being there on this traditional boat made it all the more wonderful.

But my favourite place in the world - a country I go back to again and again – is Turkey. For me the climate, the scenery, the people and the food are all as close to perfect as you can get! The combination of fantastic walking with so many rich historical sights all around you is hard to beat. 

When I travel I like to be well prepared but I try not to ‘over-plan’ my days. I like to have time to relax, soak it all in and just enjoy being there.
