City is often voted the best place to live in the world
Vancouver is a promising destination for travellers planning to take a long-haul adventure holiday, as it has a range of activities to offer.
The British Columbia city is consistently deemed one of the best cities in the world to live, having topped the Economist Intelligence Unit's annual list for the fifth consecutive time in 2011.
Amber Sessions, the manager of travel and trade media relations at Tourism Vancouver, said that Vancouver is famously popular with adventure holiday travellers - and rightly so.
"Travellers [will] find a wealth of outdoor activities at their doorstep," she said. "For example, skiing within 15 minutes of the city centre, kayaking, sailing and water sports, world class rock climbing and mountain biking."
Ms Sessions added that the city is also known for its "great restaurants", so people can relax after a hard day of exploring.
Tourism Vancouver is a business and marketing association representing around 1,050 members of the tourism industry in the Canadian city.
