Chile and Argentina are South America's 'must-see wine regions'
E-mail Print

Travellers visiting South America could indulge in wine tourism

Travellers planning solo holidays to South America should indulge in some wine tourism in the countries of Chile and Argentina.

That is according to Latinform, an information service and consultancy for the region, which noted that the wine-producing areas in these countries are a "must-see" attraction.

Colin Harding, who is the director of Latinform, noted that both Chile and Argentina are "very keen on promoting" the vineyards as a tourism destination.

"A bit further north [in Argentina], I know ... you can go around the vineyards and do samplings and meet the producers," he noted.

"Chile and Argentina are the two biggest wine-producing countries in South America," he said, adding that other countries - such as Brazil - are getting "quite enterprising" with their wine tourism.

Visiting countries to see their vineyards and wine-producing areas is a popular tourism activity, which can be seen in areas from South America to France and Greece.
