People in Mombasa will find 'myriad experiences on their doorstep'

People travelling to coastal regions of Kenya on activity breaks will find "myriad experiences on their doorstep".

That is according to the country's tourism board in the United Kingdom, who announced that the regions - such as Mombasa - have so much to offer travellers of all types.

Angie Sloan, who is director of the tourism organisation, said people can do everything from watersports to safari trips on the seafront areas.

"Whether you are looking for a cultural city experience, world-class diving, unique wildlife safaris or lush rainforest to explore, Kenya's coast has it all," she said.

Figures from the Kenya Tourist Board UK show that the first three-month period of this year was a record-breaking quarter for tourism arrivals, with January showing the highest increase of almost 40 per cent compared to January 2010.

Ms Sloan added that Mombasa also has an historical old town centre which is great for people looking for holidays with "culture and tradition".
