Barcelona's smaller restaurants offer 'amazing dishes'

Restaurateurs recommend authentic and 'amazing' Catalan restaurant

Sam and Eddie Hart, two brothers who run the Fino restaurant in London and have written books about Spanish cuisine, wrote in the Evening Standard about the Catalan capital's top places to eat.

There are many luxury, top-price restaurants for people on solo holidays in Barcelona, but for top quality and authenticity, the brothers recommend Bar Bomba.

"[In] Bar Bomba … there are no reservations and it hasn't changed in years," they said.

"The father, who must be about 85, and his son run the ancient white marble bar, covered with barrels of wine … while the mother and daughter produce amazing dishes from the kitchen."

The Harts recommend trying the eponymous dish at this cafe; the Bomba is a potato cake stuffed with stewed beef and served with garlic mayonnaise.

Sam and Eddie Hart's Fino restaurant, located in Fitzrovia, serves tapas from a menu which changes twice a day.
