Travellers can do anything from rafting to paragliding
Many people flock to the Alps in the winter, but the summer is also a great time to visit them, as there are any different activities people on adventure holidays can take part in.
That is according to Nick Trend, who is a travel columnist and the commissioning editor at the Daily Telegraph, who suggested that the mountain range offers a great variety of activities beyond hiking.
"While hundreds of thousands of us head to the Alps in winter, far fewer enjoy this spectacular landscape at this time of year. If anything, for active families there is more to do in summer than winter - rafting, hiking, riding, paragliding," he noted.
Also, according to the travel expert, the Alps are not just for people looking for strenuous, high-octane activities, with Mr Trend suggesting "you can use the ski lifts to get you up hill and enjoy the walk back down".
