People looking for the perfect destination to take an adventure holiday might like to consider visiting the Caribbean island nation of St Lucia, as the scenery is the "perfect backdrop for adventure".
St Lucia Now, a tourism organisation dedicated to the island nation, said on its website that the country lends itself perfectly to exploration.
"The legendary beauty of Saint Lucia provides the perfect backdrop for adventure: mountains to climb, forests to explore, an underwater world to discover," the tourism board noted.
"The ancients revered Saint Lucia - Iouanalao or Hewanorra, as it was called - and fought to preserve it. In recent decades, the famous have returned here to find solace in this enchanted place."
However, St Lucia offers so much more than adventure, in the evening, travellers can do an exploration of a different sort, through the " numerous restaurants and bars over all over the island", many of which offer shows of local music.
