The Water Festival is one the highlights of the Phnom Penh calendar
People planning to take an adventure holiday to Cambodia should try and travel in November so their trip coincides with Bon Om Thook, or the Water Festival.
Bon Om Thook takes place on the Mekong River in the capital city of the south-east Asian country: Phnom Penh.
The fascinating event is held to celebrate the end of the rainy season and the reversal of the flow of the Tonle Sap river. Some of the events that are to be held over the three days in November include boat races, concerts and firework displays.
Bandaet Pratip is one of the highlights of the Bon Om Thook celebrations, during this evening period, a range of boats - lit up and each representing a government ministry - take to the river.
Those planning to travel to Cambodia on an adventure holiday may like to visit the historically interesting and aesthetically beautiful temple Angkor Wat.
