Lonely Planet says that the massive size of the country means there is lots to do

People planning to take an adventure holiday this year should consider visiting Canada, as the country's huge size means there are so many activities to do.

The guide book company Lonely Planet has noted that each natural facet of the North American country seems to be super-sized.

"Its terrain is filled with [examples of Canada's size], from mammoth mountains to hulking glaciers to immense polychromatic skies," the guidebook company notes.

"Then there are the creatures that roam the terrain and its waterways - grizzly bear, moose, polar bear, humpback whales - each one huger than the next."

People travelling to Canada will find that there is a lot to see, including the fantastic Rocky Mountains. This natural formation stretches across 3,000 miles of North America and - at its peak - stands at 4,401 metres above sea level.

The mountain range is a great location for people planning to take a hiking holiday as well, because there is a good variety of trails suited to people with different abilities.
