Malaga is a 'completely cultural' destination

Andalucian destination is home to 23 museums

The Spanish city of Malaga, in Andalucia, offers a vast range of attractions and activities for people on solo holidays as it is "completely cultural in every way", according to the city's promotional body.

Antonio Montejo Romero, a spokesman for Malaga City Tourist Board and Convention Bureau, said the destination is home to many galleries and museums and noted that one - dedicated to Malaga's most famous son - is a cut above the rest.

"There are 23 museums. Plenty of them are quite new because they were opened in the past years," he said.

"The Picasso Museum has the most important private collection around the world at the moment because it represents a donation from the Picasso family to the city of Malaga following the wish of [the artist]."

People travelling to Malaga on a solo holiday may find themselves wanting to hike around the Moorish remains in other areas of Andalucia, such as Competa.
