Country is home to two different worlds
Travellers planning to take an adventure holiday might like to visit Morocco, because the country's landscape is "clamouring … and occasionally biblical", according to an award-winning author.
John Gimlette, known for penning books such as Panther Soup: A European Journey in War and Peace, noted - while placed on the cusp of the Atlas Mountains - that the country is home to two very distinct worlds.
"Behind us lay the Morocco I've known for years; clamouring, raffish and occasionally biblical," he said.
According to Mr Gimlette, who has also written books called Wild Coast: Travels on South America's Untamed Edge and Theatre of Fish: Travels in Newfoundland and Labrador, people can see the "awe-inspiring" mountains and gorges.
"[The Atlas Mountains is] where the desert began, with snow and foothills at first and then thousands of miles of thirst. Here, clouds only appear on 60 days a year and the landscape looks like embers."
