British travellers tend to feel more secure when travelling within Europe, an expert has said.
European holiday destinations give British holidaymakers an added sense of security, an expert has said.
According to holiday specialist Chris Brown, Europe offers more in the way of home comforts compared to destinations further afield, which makes Brits feel less isolated.
He pointed out that many British travellers tend to feel a certain element of security when they can visit a shop and purchase items that they could normally get back at home.
"Brits prefer the familiarity of Europe because, in one way, they'll know that they won't face disappointment," Mr Brown said "If you know what to expect, you're normally more likely to have a good time."
He added that when travellers visit a particular country or resort on holiday that they end up really liking, it is very easy for them to get stuck into the habit of returning there year after year.
Mr Brown recently advised travellers not familiar with non-European travel that Egypt and Turkey may be good places to start when embarking on solo holidays or group trips to further flung destinations.
