'Elegant and active' Buenos Aires ideal for adventure holidays

Buenos Aires is an "elegant and active" city, making it perfect for people planning adventure holidays.

The Ministerio de Turismo, which aims to promote travel to the country, noted that the Argentinean capital is a microcosm of the mixture that makes the nation great.

"Buenos Aires is … also the most elegant and active city in South America and the one that summarises the heterogeneous essence of Argentines the best," the organisation noted on its website.

The Ministerio de Turismo also noted that people on adventure holidays have a lot to do in and around the Argentinean capital.

According to the promotional body: "Buenos Aires is surrounded by the splendid Argentine nature and it is the great cosmopolitan door to South America."

If people want to use the "door" of Argentina to explore the rest of the continent, they could visit Chile - which shares the region of Patagonia with the destination - or Brazil, with which it shares the grand water formation the Iguazu Falls.
