West Asian nation is ideal for adventure holidays
Israel is an ideal destination for people planning to take an adventure holiday, due to its rich diversity, according to the tourism association for the west Asian country.
On July 29th, Israel was ranked first for adventure tourism out of all 'developing countries' by the Adventure Tourism Development Index.
Melissa Ramsden, the press relations manager for the Israel Government Tourist Office, noted that the country's relatively small size means that those planning adventure holidays can see a lot in a short space of time.
"Israel is a country that is the size of Wales and yet it has an incredible diversity in its landscape, culture and peoples," she said.
"The dramatic changes in landscape from the greenery of the north to the undulating curves of the desert in the south create choice and change for the traveller seeking adventure."
Ms Ramsden added that the historic region has a vast range of "ancient historical ruins" for people who are looking for culture as part of their adventure holiday.
