Cuban capital ideal for adventure holidays
Havana is a great destination for people planning adventure holidays, as it is one of the most "unspoiled" cities in Central America.
That is according to Wanderlust, the adventure travel magazine, which put a trip to the Cuban capital on its 'ultimate wishlist' of holiday destinations.
A writer for travel publication noted on its website that the idiosyncrasies of the capital city mean it is a perfect city to "lose yourself in".
"The culture and character of Cuba is no more evident than in the vibrant, tattered and intoxicating streets of the capital's old town," a writer for the website said.
"Live music drifts from the open doorways, grand old American automobiles stand outside equally dilapidated Spanish colonial buildings, and there's not a McDonalds in sight."
The writer went on to opine that the lack of American influence since the 1950s means the city is "neglected and yet unspoiled", perfect for people planning to take an adventure holiday.
