Visit Uluru throughout the day on an adventure holiday, says Wanderlust
Travellers planning an adventure holiday in Australia should visit the Northern Territory to experience the "canvas" that is Ayers Rock, or Uluru.
That is according to Wanderlust travel magazine, which earlier today (August 4th) placed this natural sight as one of its '100 greatest travel experiences'.
"It's a bit like a large and lumpy sandstone canvas. Because Uluru … is at the mercy of master painter Mother Nature; its hue shifts with the sun," a writer for the magazine noted on its website.
"Set your alarm early to see the inky Outback sky turn purple, and the sleeping monolith awaken, its night time shadow brightening to warm browns and rich reds with the rising sun."
The adventure travel magazine also noted that you can see "every crag and crevice" of the rock at midday and that Uluru blazes a brilliant orange as the sun goes down, so it is worth visiting the attraction over a day.
