'Adventurous tourists will enjoy' Morocco's Atlas Mountains
E-mail Print

Atlas Mountains are ideal for people looking for culture as well as adventure

The Atlas Mountains, located in Morocco, are a great destination for people on adventure holidays and cultural trips, according to the promotional body for the country in the United Kingdom.

Faical Alaoui, the trade marketing manager for the UK and Ireland at the Moroccan National Tourist Office, said that the mountains, as well as being a beautiful natural sight, are a location of intense history.

"The Atlas Mountains are the land of the Moroccan Berber culture, so we believe that both adventurous and cultural tourists will enjoy the landscapes and the daily culture of the Moroccan Berbers," he said.

Mr Alaoui also noted that Marrakech, one of the largest cities in Morocco, is a "paradox of simplicity and sophistication", blending its ancient and turbulent past with a modern present day.

People planning to visit the Atlas Mountains might decide to take a hiking holiday, as the area still has an interesting and untouched feel of the wilderness to it.
