Travellers planning to take a solo holiday to the Australian region of New South Wales should consider travelling between spring and autumn next year, according to a promotional body for the area.
Glynn Jacobs, project manager at Outback NSW Tourism - an organisation that aims to encourage tourism to the area - also noted that more people looking for places to visit on solo holidays are going to New South Wales.
"Tourism in Outback NSW has been steadily increasing over the past four years. Most recent visitation figures show an increase of 11 per cent," she said.
"Many of the towns in the outback of New South Wales have events built around the local horse races. Best known of these are the Louth Races held in Louth in August and the St Patrick's Day races held in Broken Hill during March."
These events are much more than just horse races, though; Ms Jacobs noted that the experiences include "arts and craft exhibitions" and other interesting side attractions.
