Tunisia is a great destination for people planning adventure holidays, as it offers a huge range of attractions that might be expected from a much larger country, according to the nation's promotional body.
The Tunisia National Tourist Office has said that the country offers everything from culturally important historical sites to a fantastic climate for holidaymakers.
"From Tunisia's list of attractions you would expect a country many times its size. It offers superb beaches, spectacular desert scenery and a wealth of historical sites dating back nearly 3,000 years," the organisation notes on its website.
One historical period that is still very visible in the ruins of Tunisia is that of the ancient city of Carthage. People visiting will find remnants of the civilisation just outside the capital city, Tunis.
The average monthly temperature in Tunisia rarely drops below 20 degrees centigrade and in the summer can hit highs of 38 degrees.
