Zagreb is also home to a vibrant market
Zagreb, Croatia's capital city, is a great destination to explore over a day or two on an adventure travel tour, as the town centre is perfectly placed to see lots in a short space of time.
That is according to Visit Croatia, a website which aims to promote tourism to the European nation. The organisation also recommended that people travel to a famous and vibrant market when in Zagreb.
"When sightseeing, it's a good idea to first head for Trg Bana Jelacica, the main square in the city. From here you are within walking distance of all the major attractions," the organisation noted on its website.
"Nearby is the colourful Dolac market, the main market in Zagreb, which is definitely worth visiting."
Some other sights that people on a solo holiday in the Croatian capital can take in include the Stone Gate (or Kamenita vrata), which has a wonderful 13th-century painting of the Virgin Mary.
