People visiting Lesotho can see the highest mountain in southern Africa
Lesotho - an African country completely surrounded by South Africa - is ideal for people planning to take in "natural beauty" on adventure holidays, as the destination has an abundance of sublime sights.
That is according to Visit Lesotho, an organisation run by the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation, which aims to promote travel to the southern African country.
"Lesotho offers natural beauty, rugged terrain and rich local culture and traditions, and … provides a … playground for the more intrepid adventurers," the organisation noted on its website.
"With all its land lying at altitudes in excess of 1,500 metres above sea-level; Lesotho is a land of heights and extremes."
Lesotho is a relatively small African nation; with an area of 11,720 square miles, it is roughly the same size as Belgium. However, the country fits an abundance of natural variety into this small space, including Thabana Ntlenyana, the highest mountain in southern Africa.
