The Jebel Akhda mountain range is beautiful, says travel writer
Travellers planning to embark on adventure holidays in Oman should explore the country's mountain ranges, it has been claimed.
Kate Humble, travel correspondent for the Telegraph, expressed her belief that, culturally and historically, the country is as "rich and varied as its landscapes".
Oman is home to a number of mountains, including the Jebel Akhda range, which is located just outside the city of Muscat.
Ms Humble scaled the mountains and discovered that the surrounding landscape was visually stunning.
She wrote on the news provider's website: "It felt as though we were the first people ever to have been here; the landscape was bleakly beautiful, but without water, without trees, without soil."
The Jebel Akhda mountain range is home to a number of villages, although many of its residents have been encouraged to seek alternative accommodation by the country's leader - Sultan Qaboos.
