Travellers have been urged to visit Morne Trois Pitons National Park during their adventure holidays in Dominica.
Jill Starley-Grainger, writing for the Daily Express' travel website tripideas.co.uk, claimed that the real beauty of the Caribbean island lies inland, despite the presence of stunning beaches on its coast.
She wrote on the website: "You could spend a week traipsing through this volcanic island's varied terrain and still not scratch the surface.
"Don't miss the Unesco World Heritage listed Morne Trois Pitons National Park, 18,500 acres of mountains, lakes, waterfalls and hot springs. Look out for the imperial and the red-necked parrots, two species found nowhere else in the world."
Holidaymakers who enjoy snorkelling will discover that the underwater landscape is as varied and unique as that above ground, with divers likely to spot volcanic vents and coral shelves during their time at sea.
