That is according to Lauri Lyons, a travel writer at the Huffington Post, who made these claims in an article on the news provider's website.
For those seeking adventure, but who also enjoy their creature comforts, South Africa has plenty on offer, Ms Lyons claims.
She wrote: "One of the first lessons I learned in South Africa is all tents are not created equal. While staying at the Mattanu Lodge in Kimberlee, I lived in a tent that included heat, a four poster bed, marble sink, and a jacuzzi!"
Despite staying in luxurious accommodation, Ms Lyons took part in a number of adventure activities.
During her trip, the travel writer went on a hot air balloon ride, visited the Kimberlee diamond mines and took part in shark cage diving.
