Telegraph writer suggests Jordan is perfect for adventure travel tours
Jordan is a great place for people looking for adventure travel tours, according to travel writer Kate Rigby.
In a Daily Telegraph supplement about escorted travel, the writer suggests that the Dead Sea is a particularly impressive, saying it should "definitely be up there on the list of must-do travel experiences".
Ms Rigby took a tour of the Middle Eastern kingdom, where she experienced the "solemn majesty" of the lost city of Petra and Mount Nebo.
Of the mountain, Ms Rigby wrote: "Standing atop Mount Nebo and gazing across the desert towards Bethlehem and Jerusalem is an auspicious start to any visit to Jordan."
In the Judeo-Christian mythology, Mouth Nebo is where the prophet Moses was given his first view of the promised land and where he was later buried.
Petra is a 6th-century city which is cut into Mount Hor in the Ma'an area of the country. It is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO world heritage site.
