The Greek island of Paros is an 'enchanting' destination and one that is perfect for family package holidays, according to a writer.
In the Daily Mail, Kate Wickers described the trip which she and her family took to the island, which is the third-largest in the Greek Cyclades.
The writer visited Paros with her three young children and her husband. She said that the sea was "perfect for children learning to swim" because "the sublimely warm water stays shallow for more than 100 yards".
But Ms Wickers said her favourite feature of the island was a different natural formation.
"The star attraction ... are the caves, with impressive stalactites and stalagmites," she said.
"Precipitous steps take you to a chilly 240 foot underground, where Lord Byron indulged in a little early graffiti."
As well as the natural caves, Paros has many abandoned mines and quarries, which are left over from when the region was a major producer of fine white marble.
