African country offers good 'value for money'

People hoping to take a solo holiday should consider Egypt for a trip that will not break the bank, the official tourism body for the country has said.

People travelling to Egypt this year will find that it is "very much value for money", the Egyptian State Tourist Office has said.

The Post Office's Holiday Money Report has revealed that Egypt is one of the few destinations outside the EU where the sterling has strengthened compared to last year.

Khaled Ramy, director of the Egyptian State Tourist Office in the UK and Ireland, said: "Most of the hotels are four or five stars. Almost all of them have their own beach and state of the art facilities."

"If you choose a holiday on the beach you always have the possibility of taking a tour to the famous monuments in Cairo or Luxor which, in themselves are an added value to any holiday combining relaxation with a touch of culture not to be found anywhere else in the world," Mr Ramy added.
