Moroccan tourist board says the country offers safety and good value
People looking for a Morocco holiday should consider around this time of year, when the weather is very different from that being faced by the UK,
Despite being only a three-hour flight from London, Morocco offers visitors a completely different cultural experience, the country's tourism board has claimed.
Jamal El Jaidi, events and promotions manager at the Moroccan National Tourist Office, said: "Morocco is a very safe destination, very pleasant and is good value for money.
"It is under three hour's flight from the UK. It is the closest African destination to Europe, so everything is different - the landscape, the culture".
He added that the country is becoming increasingly popular with Brits and that UK visits to Morocco increased by 27 per cent last year as a result of extra flights and a national advertising campaign.
Visitors on a Morocco holiday may wish to visit the capital of Marrakech, where they can amble through the famous medina and spice markets.
