Travellers looking for adventure holidays should consider seeing Egypt from a completely different perspective, says a travel writer.
Rory MacLean, writing for the Daily Mail, opined that seeing ancient Egyptian ruins from a hot air balloon is a "dazzling" experience.
The writer also wrote that a trip to ruins of Luxor was a good choice for those wishing to go on a family adventure holiday, as he took his child with him.
Mr MacLean wrote about experiencing thoughts of all the stories wrapped up in the ruins - and not only ancient history.
"We were soon … over the Ramesseum funerary complex that inspired Shelley's poetry," he said.
"[We were] above archeologist Howard Carter's domed villa, where he lived during his six-year search for Tutankhamun's tomb."
Luxor is a city on the River Nile in southern Egypt. It is well known for the Valley of the Kings: a monumental burial ground for Pharohs that Mr MacLean wrote "is like nowhere else on Earth".
