People planning a hiking holiday in Spain should visit the southern region of Andalucia, according to travel journalist Annie Bennett.
The writer put forward the opinion that the area of Spain offers walks for trekkers of all abilities, as well as some of the most stunning views in the whole Iberian Peninsula.
Writing in an authentic holidays supplement in the Daily Telegraph, Ms Bennett praised the "staggeringly beautiful" range of things it is possible to see in the area.
"We gazed across the rows of blue hills to the horizon, where the Mediterranean formed an inverted triangle of pale gold between the peaks," she wrote.
"As we climbed higher, up ahead was the snow-capped summit of Mulhacen, the highest point in mainland Spain."
Ms Bennett also stated that some of the hiking trails were tranquil and little explored by tourists. People on hiking holidays in the region can visit historical Moorish highlights, like Cordoba's Mosque (the Mezquita), which was build around 780 AD.
