Much to see in the country on an adventure holiday
Many people visit Cambodia for the stunning beaches and beautiful weather, however there is also plenty for the adventure traveller to do in the Asian country.
That is according to travel writer Jane Dunford, who went on a hiking holiday through the country's jungles. She said that this region offers "some of the country's most impressive natural sights".
Ms Dunford, writing in the Guardian newspaper, stayed in a floating hotel on a lake just south of Cambodia's Cardamom Mountains at a site equidistant between Bangkok and Phnom Penh.
Not only was the accommodation unorthodox, she discovered while staying there the brilliance of Cambodian cuisine.
"Leaving the fireflies to party I paddle slowly back home and feast on spicy shrimp and freshwater fish with coconut, cooked in banana leaves, before heading for a blissful night's rest, lulled to sleep by the gentle bobbing of the water," she said.
Some of Cambodia's most magnificent natural sights include the Ka Choung waterfall, which is located in the Ban Lung district.
