Writer recommends the safari camps as 'ideal' for adventure holidays

Botswana offers a "perfect" adventure travel experience, especially in its "ideal safari camps".

That is according to Liz Vercoe, who wrote about her animal-watching experience to the southern African country for The Daily Telegraph.

"Roughly the size of France, this flat, landlocked country has a population of just two million people and, thanks to the inland Okavanga Delta, an abundance of game that is relatively undisturbed," she said.

Ms Vercoe also said that taking a guided safari tour is the best way to see the animals in their own habitat.

"The guides' skills, learnt from parents and grandparents, soon resulted in us finding a concealed pride of lion, camouflaged shy water buck and matriarchal elephant protecting an infant," she said.

An other thing that travellers on adventure holidays in Botswana can do is eat the local food such as seswa and pap, which is shredded beef, served with a maize porridge.
