Robert Bathurst enjoyed the sights and sunshine
Robert Bathurst, a theatre actor current performing in London, has said that one of his best holiday experiences was a family package holiday to the Indian region of Kerala.
The actor, known for his roles in television shows Cold Feet, Downton Abbey and Agatha Christie's Poirot, was asked in an interview with The Daily Telegraph about his best holiday experience.
He travelled to Kerala on the advice of his daughter and said the experience was "verging on sublime".
Mr Bathurst, who is currently performing in Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit at London's Apollo Theatre, told the news provider that the sunshine and the sights made the holiday perfect.
"We hired a small boat and got taken through the backwaters, we discovered a wonderful remote beach, attended Hindu ceremonies," he said.
"[We also] enjoyed unremitting sunshine for the entire two and a half weeks - we had a wonderful time."
Kerala is well known for its fantastic local cuisine, made up of heavily spiced food and a wide use of fish.
