Katie Derham recommends the country of her father's birth
Groups planning family adventure holidays may wish to visit Rio de Janeiro, as it has "the most fantastic atmosphere" according to a broadcaster.
Katie Derham, known for presenting ITV's London Tonight and a selection of classical music shows on BBC Radio Three, said that the Brazilian city is also "incredibly scenic" for people on hiking holidays.
In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, the broadcaster particularly recommended that visitors should take in the city's natural sites.
"You've got to go up to the Corcovado, one of the city's two iconic landmarks – the other, of course, being the Sugar Loaf," she said.
"They might be touristy, but the view from the top of the Corcovado, in particular, is incredible."
Ms Derham told the news provider that the beaches in Rio de Janeiro also have "amazing views", particularly recommending Copacabana Beach.
The Corcovado - which translates from Portuguese as "hunchback" - is the Brazilian mountain most famous for having the statue of Cristo Redentor (or Christ the Redeemer) at its summit.
