Tourism board say the region is one of the best in Thailand

People planning solo holidays may wish to consider a trip to Thailand, with its "idyllic" beaches and great walking opportunities.

A particularly great place to visit is the region of Hua Hin, according to the country's tourism body: the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Chris Lee, the trade marketing manager for the United Kingdom and Ireland at the tourist board, said that the walking opportunities and the wildlife make the country ideal for solo holidays.

"A short trip by minivan and long tail speed boat takes you to this idyllic beach, and a gentle walk leads to an amazing cave which contains a stunning statue of Buddha, a really memorable experience," he said.

"You can also take the opportunity to visit one of the elephant camps situated in the jungle."

If travellers visit between November and March, the country will be dry but hot, making it perfect for solo holidays, according to marketing manager.
