People should visit Singapore, which has 'let its hair down'
E-mail Print

Opportunities for swimming and diving abound

People looking for places to take a solo holiday should consider Singapore, as the country has recently "let its hair down" as a country.

That is according to Gisela Williams, writing in the New York Times, who names the Asian country as one of the 41 places to visit in the world in 2011.

The writer suggested that the island country - once considered "oppressive and humourless" - has opened up to people on adventure holidays in the last decade.

As well as the many beautiful natural sights contained within the Singaporean border, the country offers many opportunities of swimming and diving in the sea, or walking through the country's forests.

The Economist Intelligence Unit's Quality of Life Index places Singapore as the place with the best quality of life in the whole of Asia and eleventh best in the world, one place behind Spain and two places in front of the United States of America.
