Even 'simply things' like going for a walk are adventurous
The Lapland region of Sweden is great for adventure holidays, as travellers can explore the relative wilderness of the area.
Mr Henderson wrote that people can have adventures by merely doing "simple things" in the Scandinavian country, in which the nights benefit from its position high in the Northern Hemisphere.
"Sleeping late is easy at this time of year – the sun rises at around eight and sets at five – but outside there's plenty to do, even in the sub-Arctic spring and winter," he said.
"Simple things, like going for a walk in the woods on snowshoes, pausing now and then to watch your breath curl like smoke or admire reindeer looking for food."
The writer also recommended "exploring [the] Swedish wilderness" from Lapland, as much of the area is beautifully unspoilt.
Lapland, although a largely ceremonial district in and of itself, is strictly made up of two different administrative counties of Sweden: Norrbotten County and Vasterbotten County.
