Solo holidays in the Polish capital offer many cultural attractions

Warsaw has an "extraordinary collection" of cultural attractions and sights for people on solo holidays, according to the editor of a travel magazine.

Dana Dramowicz is the editor of Warsaw Life, a travel guide and review website for the Polish capital city. She told The Guardian newspaper about Warsaw, setting it out as the best place to visit in Poland.

She said that Warsaw offers a huge amount of cultural attractions, with many more to open in the coming years.

"By 2016 our already extraordinary collection of private galleries and national art museums will be joined by a cutting-edge Modern Art Museum," she said.

"Warsaw is speeding forward, creating a thriving metropolis of business and culture. Warsaw has loads more to offer."

As well as being the capital, Warsaw is the largest city in Poland. It is located on the banks of the Vistula River and is sometimes known as the phoenix city, after its miraculous recovery from extensive damage during the Second World War.
