E-mail Print

The International Camel Derby has been running since 1990

When planning a solo holiday, it is important to organise when you want to take the trip and see if there are any unmissable events around the destination.

For this reason, people planning a solo holiday to Kenya may wish to book soon and travel in August, when a top racing event will be held in the east African country.

The International Camel Derby will be located in Maralal, in northern Kenya, this autumn; the highlight of which is a 42-kilometre marathon race through the Maralal township.

Not only is it the Maralal International Camel Derby a leading race, which attracts animals and trainers from all over Africa, Europe and the rest of the world, but it also serves to highlight the growing desertification of Kenya.

As well as the camel derby, the event will host cycling races, donkey rides, local dancing displays and stalls selling all manner of things.
