Presenter treks through the 'land of ice and fire'

Travellers planning a family adventure holiday to Iceland may want to tune in to BBC Four at 9pm today, to see a presenter explore the Scandinavian country.

Julia Bradbury, who is best-known for presenting BBC One's Countryfile, will travel across frozen rivers and up famous volcanoes.

The show, called Julia Bradbury's Icelandic Walk, will culminate in a visit to Iceland's infamous Eyjafjallajokull volcano, which caused so much travel disruption last year.

Julia Bradbury's programme is part of the BBC's Wonders of Iceland season, which also includes shows the motion picture Jar City and a photography documentary called Last Days of the Arctic: Capturing the Faces of the North.

People who want to take a family adventure holiday to Iceland could see the country's famous geysers and waterfalls, which are sure to fascinate and excite adults and children alike.

Other activities that people can take part in while on an adventure holiday in Iceland include fishing trips and whale-watching.
