Visit impressive sights from Cold War history

If travellers are looking for a historical destination to visit on a solo holiday, they should take a trip to Prague, as the eastern European city is covered by the shadow of past events.

While the lasting affects of the Second World War are not widely noticeable in the Czech capital, the Cold War has left a lasting impact.

Prague was the main hotspot of the Czech Republic's 'Velvet Revolution', which saw the overthrow of the country's communist government.

Husband and wife partnership Kieran and Kristin Harris Walsh recently wrote in The Telegram newspaper of a trip to the city.

"Thousands of visitors flock [to Prague] every year to soak up this historic city … boasting delicious food, architectural gems and unbeatable views in a very walkable city centre," they wrote.

Some attractions in Prague that history buffs should visit include the city's Museum of Communism and the National Museum.
