Botswana is becoming more popular with travellers
Botswana is an ideal destination for people planning adventure holidays, as it offers many opportunities to take safaris and spot animals.
People planning to take a solo holiday in Africa could visit Botswana towards the end of this September, when they will be able to see and take part in one of the biggest celebrations based in the country.
On September 30th, the southern African country will celebrate 50 years of independence from the British with festivities and a coincident cultural festival called Domboshaba.
ABTA: The Travel Association, an organisation which represents UK travel, recently revealed that holidays to Africa are on the up.
A spokesperson for the organisation said the continent has seen "the biggest growth" in tourism.
"Lots of southern African countries [have seen a jump in popularity] - South Africa has seen a huge growth in recent years. Zambia and Botswana, those kinds of areas," the spokesperson said.
