Age Limits – the annual policy is available to persons aged 65 years or under at the time of purchasing the insurance.

Travel in the UK – is covered provided you have pre-booked accommodation of two consecutive nights. Medical cover is excluded.

Couples/children
1. Either adult or children can travel independently.
2. Cover for single parents.
3. A ‘couple’ is defined as any 2 adults, whether married or not, who have been in a permanent partnership for at least 6 months.

Validity – All policies are valid for a full calendar year. Premiums are not refundable should your tour be cancelled by Explore for any reason. If you do not specify a commencement date, we will automatically issue the policy from the date of payment.

Travel duration – the maximum period for any one trip covered by the policy is 44 days. There is no limit to the number of trips in the year. This 44 day maximum period cannot be extended.

Explore Travel Insurance Policy Notes & Conditions

Pre-existing medical conditions

It is a pre-requisite of many travel insurance policy (including the Explore policy) that you inform the insurance company of any defined pre-existing medical conditions known to exist (to both you or any person not necessarily travelling but upon whom travel depends, such as a relative) at the time of purchase and obtain written confirmation from them that you are fully covered for such conditions. If in doubt, Explore Insurance policy holders should call the medical screening helpline in confidence on: 0844 826 2686.

Premiums

All prices shown include UK Government Insurance Premium Tax currently of 20%.
Please ensure the duration of your policy mirrors the total duration of your trip from the time you leave your home until you return home.

Definition of Short haul

Means the continent of Europe west of the Ural mountains; countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea; plus Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Jordan, Greenland, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Madeira, the Canary Islands, Azores & Mediterranean islands.

Documentation

The information contained within this brochure is only a summary of cover. The full policy terms, conditions and exclusions are incorporated in the Policy Document which will be sent to you at the time of purchase and which alone constitutes the contract of insurance between the insured person(s) and the insurer. Please ensure that you take this Policy Document and your Holiday Confirmation Invoice with you when you travel, leaving copies in a safe place at home. A copy of the Policy Document is available prior to purchase upon request.

Operative Date

The calendar year in which the payment for the Policy is received by Explore will define the premium, conditions and benefits. The details shown in this brochure are correct at time of going to print and may be subject to change.

Claims

Details on how to make claims can be found in the insurance Policy Document that will be sent to you upon purchase of the policy. A 24 hour emergency medical number will also be provided.

Excesses

Most claims are subject to the deduction of an excess, applicable to each section of cover and each person. The standard excess is £50. For persons aged 80+ please contact Customer Services on
