Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Nairobi.

Arriving in Nairobi you transfer to Selenkay Conservancy part of Amboseli National Park.  The journey is approximately 102 miles, taking around four hours, however for an extra £145 you may choose to fly instead.  This afternoon, head out on your first game drive to explore the Selenkay Conservancy. All the big cats have been seen in the conservancy, as well as elephants, large numbers of giraffes, zebra and antelopes. There are also less common animals to be seen such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, lesser kudu and African wildcat.

Please note, your camping throughout this trip is in small two-man dome tents with mattresses. Each tent has its own flush toilet and safari shower behind the tent. All meals are prepared by the camp cook and mineral water is provided. The attraction of this mobile camping experience (tents are only up from July to October) is that you are enjoying the same high quality wildlife safari experience as you would get in the top-end lodges, in 4x4 vehicles (not a minibus) and with experienced guides. The tents are, however, basic. This is a back-to-the-wilds camping adventure!

After an early breakfast, spend the morning on a game drive in the conservancy and an escorted nature walk with Masai guides. In the afternoon, you will visit a nearby Masai village where you will get to know more about the Masai way-of-life before enjoying a night game drive, with a spotlight, to seek out nocturnal animals.

Drive through the bush into Amboseli National Park for a day of game drives. Enjoy stunning views of Kilimanjaro and close-up observation of elephants. Return to camp in the Selenkay Conservancy later in the afternoon after a picnic lunch.

After breakfast drive to Nairobi for your afternoon light aircraft flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your mobile camp in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy and shown to your tent, before heading out on an evening game drive for your first taste of the famous Masai Mara.

Wake up at dawn and enjoy an early game drive in the conservancy, on the look out for big cats!  Return to camp for a late breakfast, followed by an escorted nature walk and lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, including the chance to stay out after dark with a spotlight for the chance to see the nocturnal animals.
