Departing this morning, we drive to the King’s residence, Rabat. The ancient city dates back to 8BC, and we will explore the heart of the historic centre before continuing our journey to Fes.

Situated close to Bab Boujloud, one of the principal entrances and into the old medina, Riad Yacout dates back to the 7th century and combines traditional decor and architecture with an unbeatable location. A short walk away from the riad is amongst others, the Kairouine mosque and its university dating back to the 12th century as well as the old city ramparts.

This morning you will have a guided tour of ‘the artisan capital of Morocco’, visiting the medina, Fes el Jedid, with the Royal Palace and North Borj. This afternoon has been left free for you to explore the mosques and souks at your leisure.

Meknes, Volubilis and Moulay Idriss
Today you will travel to the city of Meknes. A guided tour around the UNESCO World Heritage Site takes in the medinas, mosques and hammans built in the Spanish-Moorish style. Afterwards, travel to the ancient archaeological site of Volubilis, to visit the ruins of the 3rd century Roman colonial town, followed by a visit to the Muslim pilgrimage site of Moulay Idriss.

Drive to Marrakech
Departing Fes for Marrakech, your journey stops in the Berber market town of Azrou, set in deep in the Middle Atlas this slow-paced town has stunning views of the surrounding meadows and cedar forests.
