Tarangire National Park
Your safari adventure begins today as you set off early to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its baobab trees, large herds of elephant and excellent birdlife, the park provides a perfect introduction to game viewing in Africa. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive.
Please note, at certain times of year we'll re-route your itinerary so Tarangire National Park isn't included. Our Africa regional specialist knows the best times of year to visit the national parks to get the very best wildlife sightings, and will design your itinerary with you with this in mind.

Lake Manyara National Park
Your safari continues as you drive to Lake Manyara National Park, which is known for its adventurous (yet elusive) tree-climbing lions. Stop on the Rift Valley escarpment for breathtaking views over Lake Manyara, which teems with pink flamingos in the water below. This afternoon, there'll be a game drive in the park.

Kirurumu Tented Camp is set in a stunning location overlooking a spectacular panorama across Lake Manyara to Mount Losimongori located high on the edge of the Gregorian escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. With over 27 comfortable, private and spacious tents, built under thatched structures with good-sized wooden verandas to the front, Kirurumu provides a lovely setting to unwind at the viewing deck and bar.

Serengeti Sopa Lodge
Built in 1992, the Serengeti Sopa Lodge enjoys an elevated position in the Nyarboro Hills in the south west region of the park. Spacious en-suite rooms, each with a veranda, face the open Serengeti Plains which extend as far as the eye can see. There is an open dining and reception area, and outside there is a swimming pool for a refreshing dip after your game drive.

Journey to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, proceed to Karatu. Relax over lunch, before continuing to the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving in time to catch spectacular sunset views.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
The Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is located on the edge of the crater rim with the most fabulous views into the crater. Facing west, the lodge is also the setting for some great sunsets after your game viewing. The 91 rooms are very spacious and all have panoramic views from their glass fronted verandas. The bar and dining room also have floor to ceiling windows and a warming fire to take the chill off the colder evenings. There is a terrace outside with lawns leading to a swimming pool.

Ngorongoro Crater
Today, you'll enjoy a full day game drive of the Ngorongoro Crater. An early morning descent into the crater maximises your chances of spotting a range of species and witnessing a true wildlife spectacle in this unique sanctuary. The endangered black rhino can be seen here along with a host of other big game, including lion who are at their most active before the heat of the day takes hold.
