Trek Mont Blanc

Overview

The iconic Tour du Mont Blanc
Regarded as one of the greatest treks in the world, the Tour de Mont Blanc has become a 'must-do' for discerning trekkers. Travelling through 3 countries, crossing 5 major passes and walking more than 165km, the trek offers a staggering variety of scenery and mountain views. In addition, there are isolated mountain cafés, quaint Alpine villages and the buzz of Chamonix and Courmayeur.

Alpine lakes and passes
Starting in Chamonix we quickly gain altitude to see the whole Mont Blanc massif: a great jumble of high snowy peaks, huge glaciers and towering granite spires with evocative names such as Le Dru, Mont Maudit and Les Grandes Jorasses. We pass Lac Blanc, cross the Col de Balme, follow the Bovine Route and head into Italy. After a rest day, we continue back into France and cross 3 high passes in 3 days before returning to the bustle of Chamonix. Throughout the trip you will see colourful Alpine flowers, pretty woodlands and a great variety of animals such as chamois, ibex, stoat and marmots.

Hotels & meals
Throughout the trek we stay at small, family-run hotels and traditional auberges. Most nights are in twin rooms with mainly private bathrooms: they are comfortable, clean and provide all bedding. All meals are included on the trek: picnic lunches and dinner at the hotels.

Chamonix & Courmayeur
Chamonix is a bustling Alpine town lined with pavement cafés, restaurants and outdoor equipment shops. You have ample time to explore the town and take part in other activities such as mountain biking or paragliding. We stop mid-trek for a well-earned rest day in Courmayeur - a chic Italian ski town where you can admire the views with a cappuccino or head to the local spa to relax those aching muscles.
